Can anyone watch the Portland Hope Gala event?
Absolutely! The Portland Hope Gala program is open and available to everyone for FREE! This event is a great way to share the American Cancer Society with friends, family, and colleagues who might not normally attend gala.
How do I watch the Portland Hope Gala program? What technology do I need to access the digital event?
All guests will receive an email from the Portland Hope Gala with the link to view the program on our website or you can view it on Facebook here – no account or special program required. All it takes is a computer or smart TV to view the program. We recommend having a second device like a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to bid on auction items without missing a beat within the program!

How do I bid on auction items? Can anyone participate in the auction?
Instructions for bidding can be found here and will be shared via email leading up to the event. All it takes is a computer or smart TV to view the program and another internet browser window or a second device like a laptop, tablet or smartphone to bid on items – there’s no special program required. Just like our typical gala, all guests will need to register with a credit card to bid on items and donate to our Hope Gala. You can register for the silent auction here. Click “Get Started” in the upper righthand corner to begin the registration process.
I won't be able to get on before bidding closes. Is there a way I can set a max bid on the things I want?
Why, yes of course! You can set a max bid by simply:

Selecting the package you want to bid on,

Bid More

Place a Max Bid. The system will bid in your favor until you are outbid or the auction closes.
Can I still bid on items or make a donation if I cannot tune into the digital event?
Yes! Everyone is welcome to participate in the online auction or make a direct donation to the mission, regardless of attending the digital program.
